Lubomir Michalik Biography
Lubo Michalik is a Slovakia international central defender who joined Carlisle United from Leeds United in January 2011.
Prior to that, he had spent a successful three months on loan at Brunton Park, forming a strong partnership with Manchester United loanee James Chester who eventually signed for Hull City.
A tall and powerful figure in defence, he adapted well to life at Brunton Park, becoming something of a crowd favourite. He also scored a number of goals, the most spectacular being a shot from all of 35 yards which flew into the net at Hartlepool to the astonishment of all who witnessed it.
