Liam Lawrence is an attacking midfield player who signed for Portsmouth in the summer of 2010.

He was mostly a regular in the Pompey line-up in 2010-11 apart from a spell out injured in the new year. Liam began his career with Mansfield, quickly moving up to sign for Sunderland.

He helped the Wearsiders gain promotion to the Premier League in 2004-05 before moving on to Stoke, firstly on loan, and then from January 2007 on a permanent basis.

He quickly became a fixture in the line-up and was a key figure in the team that finished second in the Championship in 2007-08, when he was joint-top scorer and named as the club’s Player of the Year.

Liam is a hardworking player who can deliver an accurate cross and he possesses a powerful long-range shot. He represents the Republic of Ireland at international level.
