Leon Osman is a midfielder who has been with Everton throughout his professional career. After joining the club as a scholar he went on to become a member of the 1998 FA Youth Cup winning side. Leon then spent time developing in the reserves and with loan spells at Carlisle and Derby County. He broke into the first team during the 2004-05 campaign and has since made over 200 Premier League appearances. Technically gifted and with the ability to create space for himself, Leon is most effective when employed in a central-midfield role. He also has the ability to score from long range, as evidenced by his strike against AE Larissa in a UEFA Cup tie that won the club?s Goal of the Season award in 2007-08. Leon was again a regular in the line-up in 2010-11 although an ankle injury kept him out for several weeks in the middle of the season.
