The experienced Lee Carsley returned to Coventry City in July 2010 after almost ten years away and was made club captain.

The combative midfield player was a major influence on the field and inspired the youngsters in the team.

His injury in early January disrupted the team's midfield and the Sky Blues, lacking his leadership, struggled for points.

As ever Lee went about his job quietly and effectively. His one-year deal came to end in June 2011 and he was then appointed to the coaching staff at the Ricoh.
