Kelvin Mellor is a young defender who joined Crewe Alexandra as a 17-year-old from neighbours Nantwich Town in February 2008. Kelvin, who has appeared at right back, centre back and as a holding midfield player, developed in the academy and reserve teams and was loaned back to Nantwich early in 2009-10 to gain senior experience. He was included on the first-team bench later in 2009-10 and after a spell on loan at Stafford Rangers early in 2010-11 he made his League debut when he came on late in the win at Morecambe in November 2010.
