Jose da Silva Bosingwa Biography
Jose Bosingwa is an attacking right back playing for Chelsea and Portugal.
Although he was born in DR Congo he moved to Portugal at a young age and his football career took off at Boavista, before a move to FC Porto followed under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.
Jose was a member of the team that won the UEFA Cup in 2003 and the Champions’ League 12 months later, and after five successful seasons with Porto he moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2008, becoming manager Luis Felipe Scolari's first signing.
He has great pace and attacking instincts, providing dangerous crosses and chipping in with a few goals. Unfortunately, Jose missed a full year from September 2009 after suffering a serious knee injury in the game at Aston Villa. He returned to action in the early part of the 2010-11 season.
Jose made his debut for Portugal against Belgium in May 2007 and currently has 24 caps for his country.
