Jon Flanagan is a young defender who came up through the ranks at Liverpool, signing his first professional contract in July 2010. Jon is a right back who is solid in the tackle and shows good composure on the ball. After featuring for the U18s and reserves he was given his opportunity in the first team due to a spate of injuries at the club. He made his senior debut in the Premier League game against Manchester City at Anfield in April 2011 when his performance belied his young age, and went on to retain his place in the line-up for the closing fixtures. His performances won him a call-up to England U19s in May 2011 and he has since gone on to play for the U21s. © 2011 - PFA Player Profiles
