Joleon Lescott is a solid defender for Manchester City who is most effective in the centre of defence, but can also play at left back.

Joleon spent his formative years with Wolves, making his senior debut shortly before his 18th birthday. He soon established himself as a regular at Molineux and a series of solid and consistent performances earned him a move to Everton in the summer of 2006.

He continued to enhance his reputation at Goodison, winning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2007-08 and becoming a key figure in the centre of defence for David Moyes’ side. In August 2009 Joleon completed his transfer to City. After taking a little time to settle in to his new surroundings he was soon back to his very best.

However, he started the 2010-11 season on the bench and only managed nine starts in the opening 27 first-team fixtures. The second half of the season brought more involvement and he became a key figure as City won the FA Cup and achieved a top-three finish.

Joleon won his first cap for England against Estonia in 2007 and has since added further appearances.
