John McCombe Biography

John McCombe is a central defender who joined Port Vale from Hereford United in the summer of 2008. John is a physically powerful player who has the ability to dominate most opponents and also provides an attacking threat when moving forward for set pieces. John was a regular member of the team during the 2010-11 season and also netted some valuable goals. He scored a brace in the 2-1 win over Wycombe and also managed the late equaliser at Dartford that avoided an embarrassing FA Cup defeat. He was a deserving winner of the Supporters Player of the Year award.
