John Johnson is a young defender who joined Northampton Town in the summer of 2010 after spending the previous season on loan at Sixfields. John developed in the Academy at Middlesbrough and went on to make his senior debut for the club when he came on as a substitute against Chelsea in October 2008. After gaining further experience during a loan spell at Tranmere Rovers John joined Northampton on loan with his consistent performances during 2009-10 earning him a permanent move. John can operate at right back or centre back, and has also played as a defensive midfielder.
