Player Details

Joey Barton is a midfield player who spent his fourth season at Newcastle United in 2010-11. Joey is a hard working player who is strong in the tackle and a good passer of the ball. He featured regularly in the team throughout the Magpies first season back in the Premier League although was often used on the right side of midfield instead of his usual central role. He contributed four goals, the most important of which came in the game against Arsenal at St James' Park when he converted two penalties to spark a spectacular turn around which saw Newcastle come back from 4-0 down to draw 4-4. Joey began his senior career with Manchester City making over 100 appearances for the club before his move to Tyneside. His single cap for England came when he was introduced as a substitute in a friendly against Spain in February 2007. Joey left Newcastle in August 2011 and signed for Premier League newcomers Queen?s Park Rangers.
