Jermain Defoe is an out-and-out striker who rejoined Tottenham Hotspur from Portsmouth in January 2009 just 12 months after leaving White Hart Lane for the South Coast club. A lightning fast player who possesses a blistering shot with either foot, Jermain is deadly inside the box. He had an excellent season in 2009-10 but had a frustrating time in 2010-11. Jermain managed just four Premier League goals during the campaign but these included his effort against West Bromwich Albion in April which was Spurs 1000th Premier League goal as well as his own 100th goal for club. First capped by England in March 2004, Jermain currently has over 40 full caps for his country. He continued to represent England in 2010-11 and netted a hat-trick in the Euro qualifier against Bulgaria in September. © 2011 - PFA Player Profiles
