A hard working, strong tackling player who closes down opponents effectively, Jem finished in third place in the club's Player of the Season vote at the end of the 2010-11 campaign and having formed a powerful central midfield pairing with loanee Mikele Leigertwood. He also scored the Royals' Goal of the Season with a stunning volley at Preston. Jem has been capped for Turkey at U21 level.
