Hugo Roberto Colace

Hugo Colace is a defensive midfield player who joined Barnsley in the summer of 2008 after a season playing in Brazil for the Flamengo club. Hugo plays with a calm assured style and has considerable skill on the ball. He was outstanding for much of his time at Oakwell with his performances earning him the club’s 2009-10 Player of the Year award. Hugo continued to feature in the team during 2010-11 but left the club shortly after the end of the season and moved to play in Mexico for the Estudiantes Tecos club. Hugo is originally from Argentina where he was at Argentinos and Newell’s Old Boys earlier in his career. He has represented Argentina at U17 and U20 levels.
