Gretar Steinsson

Gretar Steinsson is a solid, no-nonsense right back for Bolton Wanderers.

He is particularly effective when moving forward with the ball and has also occasionally appeared on the right-hand side of midfield. Signed by Wanderers in the January 2008 transfer window, he was rarely absent from the starting line-up in his first 18 months with the club.

However, minor injuries and competition from new signing Paul Robinson have since made his place in the side less secure. Gretar began his career in Iceland with IA Akranes and went on to play for Young Boys Berne and AZ Alkmaar before arriving at the Reebok.

He is an established international for Iceland, having made his debut back in March 2002.
