Gary Cahill

An England international central defender who joined Chelsea in January 2012. A product of the Aston Villa Academy, Gary quickly caught the eye for his classy, footballing approach from the back, and a notable overhead kick winner against fierce rivals Birmingham City in 2006.

He joined Bolton Wanderers two years later and quickly became an influential figure at the Reebok, producing a series of consistent performances. He made further strides in his career, earning an England debut in 2010 against Bulgaria.

He scored his first goal against the same country a year later and made the move south to Chelsea midway through the 2011-12 season. Within six months he was an FA Cup and UEFA Champions League winner, but missed out on a Euro 2012 spot after suffering a broken jaw in a pre-tournament friendly.

He currently has nine caps for his country.
