Dean Rance is a box-to-box centre midfield player who signed his first professional contract for Gillingham in the summer of 2010.

Dean has a combative style and has appeared regularly in the U18 and reserve teams. He has yet to make his first-team debut but was included as an unused substitute in the January 2009 FA Cup tie against Aston Villa. Dean missed the first half of 2010-11 after suffering an injury in a pre-season fixture.

After recovering fitness he spent time on loan with Maidstone United and Bishop’s Stortford.
