Manny Smith is a central defender who currently plays for Walsall. After graduating through the club's youth ranks, he signed professionally in the summer of 2006. Manny captained the Walsall reserve side in 2006-07 and made his first-team debut in a League Two clash with Torquay in April 2007. He began to stake a regular place in the first team towards the end of 2008-09, winning the club's Young Player of the Season award. Manny is known for his strength and aerial ability. He was a regular in the Saddlers? first-team squad throughout 2010-11, but spent much of the second half of the campaign on the bench.
