Dean Whitehead Biography

Dean Whitehead is a centre midfield player who signed for Stoke City in July 2009.

He is a hard working, dynamic player who is an effective tackler and also possesses excellent leadership skills. Dean made his debut for the Potters against Burnley at the start of the 2009-10 season and has rarely been absent since then, although he was on the substitutes’ bench towards the end of 2010-11, coming on in the FA Cup final against Manchester City in May.

He began his senior career with Oxford United, before spending five seasons with Sunderland where he was captain of the team in 2008-09.
