Danny Ireland

Goalkeeper Danny Ireland spent much of 2010-11 as back-up to Keiren Westwood for Coventry City. The Australian ‘keeper had not appeared in a first-team game since his debut in a Carling Cup tie in August 2008 and it was his bad luck that when Coventry had a goalkeeping crisis in August 2010 he was already on the injured list himself. He recovered and when his next chance came, in the home game with Bristol City when Westwood went off injured at half time, Danny pulled a muscle within minutes but managed to limp through the rest of the game. His injury kept him out for the remainder of the season but he was rewarded for his patience with a new contract.
