Danny is a cultured left-sided player who is comfortable on the ball. And has appeared at both centre back and left back. He made his debut for Rangers as a teenager in October 2009, featuring regularly in the side in 2009-10 as they achieved a double of the SPL title and the Scottish League Cup.

He was mostly a reserve in his first season at Anfield, although he made his first appearance in the Carling Cup defeat by Northampton and made several further appearances, mostly in the Europa League.
