Danny Whitaker is an attacking player who signed for League Two club Chesterfield in the summer of 2010 after two seasons at Oldham. Danny is an effective centre midfield player who has also been used in a wide position. He was the Spireites? regular penalty taker as well as contributing a number of goals from open play, while he scored a hat-trick against Hereford in only his third League game for the club. Danny was a key player for the Spireites, with his form over the season earning him a place in the PFA League Two team of the season. Danny began his senior career at Macclesfield making over 200 appearances for the Silkmen before moving on to Port Vale.
