Daniel Sturridge Biography
A young striker who signed for Chelsea in July 2009. Chelsea. He has had to show patience to earn his chance to shine in a crowded strike force at Stamford Bridge.
He excelled on loan at Bolton Wanderers in the second half of the 2010-11 season, scoring 8 goals in 12 games. He returned to Chelsea to earn a regular first-team spot under Andre Villas-Boas and responded by scoring well into double figures and playing in a victorious Champions League winning team.
A trainee with Manchester City, he showed an impressive combination of skill and power as a youngster and was a member of the team that defeated Chelsea to win the FA Youth Cup in 2008.
Daniel was given his senior debut by then-City manager Sven Goran Eriksson and notched his first goal in the FA Cup tie away to Sheffield United in January 2008.
He was previously a regular for England U21s, stepping up to make his full international debut against Sweden in November 2011.
