Dan Gray is a defensive player who signed professional terms with Chesterfield in December 2008 after making the step up from the youth team. 

Dan, who has been used by the Spireites at both right back and in a defensive midfield role, made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old. 

He found himself out of favour in 2010-11 and after making a couple of appearances early on in the campaign was loaned to Macclesfield Town. 

Dan marked his debut for the Silkmen by scoring on his debut against Bury on New Year's Day and appeared regularly for Macclesfield in the second half of the season.
