Clarindo Andre Santos Biography

An experienced defender who signed for Arsenal at the end of the August 2011 transfer window.

He took a short period of time to settle down in North London, making his debut in the Champions League game with Borussia Dortmund in mid-September. He then went on to begin to establish himself in the side before suffering an injury in the game with Olympiakos in December which sidelined him for several months.

He eventually returned towards the end of March, adding further appearances towards the end of the season. Andre is an attacking left back who has also featured on the left-hand side of midfield. He came to prominence in Brazil, playing for Figueirense and Corinthians before moving to Europe to play for Fenerbahce in the summer of 2009.

He was a member of the team that won the Turkish Super Lig title in 2010-11 before switching to the Emirates. He won his first cap for Brazil in June 2009 and by the summer of 2012 had made 22 appearances for his country.
