Charlie Clough began his career as a combative central midfield player, signing a professional contract with Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2007 after graduating from the club's Centre of Excellence.

He made his League debut when he came on as a substitute against Brighton in April 2008 and has since spent loan spells with Newport County and Weymouth.

Following a switch to the centre of defence and an impressive loan period with Bath City he returned to the Memorial Stadium and added a further appearance from the bench against Sheffield Wednesday.

He played so well he retained his place for the final match of the season at Colchester United when he made his first senior start.
