Brett Emerton

Brett Emerton is a wide-right midfield player who signed for Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2003.

A product of the Australian Institute of Sport, He went on to play for Sydney Olympic and Feyenoord before arriving at Ewood Park. Brett was a key figure for Rovers from the time he joined the club and made close on 250 Premier League appearances during his stay.

A versatile player who can play as an overlapping full back on the wing or in a central midfield role, Brett is tall and powerful and possesses a good engine. After a slow start to the 2010-11 campaign, he was a regular in the line-up for Rovers, although he missed several matches on international duty for the AFC Asia Cup finals.

Brett made his full international debut shortly before his 19th birthday and now has over 80 caps for Australia.

He left Ewood Park by mutual consent in August 2011 and returned to Australia, signing for Sydney FC.
