Branislav Ivanovic is a versatile defender for Chelsea. Equally confident at right back or in the centre of defence, the tough-tackling player joined the Blues in January 2008 after two years in Russia with Lokomotiv Moscow. He became Avram Grant's second signing for the Blues, but initially failed to settle at Stamford Bridge, suffering from niggling injuries. He has since made up for lost time, providing a solid, aggressive presence at centre back and an ever-improving attacking threat, especially from set pieces. Branislav most notably scored twice at Anfield against Liverpool in the Champions? League quarter-final first leg in April 2009. He is a regular for Serbia at international level and featured at the 2010 World Cup finals. © 2011 - PFA Player Profiles
