Benoit Assou-Ekotto is an accomplished left back, who joined Tottenham Hotspur from RC Lens in June 2006. Benoit took a while to establish himself as first choice in the team at White Hart Lane, and spent most of the 2007-08 season out through injury. Since then he has truly shone and made the position his own. Benoit reads the game well, tackles cleanly, and often comes out with the ball, thinking before sending a well-placed pass down the line or to an advancing player. He has linked up well with Gareth Bale down the left and in 2010-11 continued to play regularly, completing his 100th Premier League appearance for the club. Benoit is a full international for Cameroon having appeared 15 times for his country by the summer of 2011. © 2011 - PFA Player Profiles
