Ben Alnwick Biography

Ben Alnwick joined Tottenham Hotspur from Sunderland in January 2007 as an understudy goalkeeper and for his potential to become a first-team player.

Ben has yet to make his Premier League debut for the club, although he has played in two cup games, both in January 2009. One of those was the FA Cup fourth round tie at Old Trafford, when he made one particularly significant save and gave a good all-round performance.

Ben has gained experience of senior football in a number of loan spells away from White Hart Lane. He made occasional appearances as an unused substitute during the early part of 2010-11 before going on loan to Leeds United in October.

He later spent a short spell loaned out to Doncaster Rovers but at both clubs he was included as a back-up ‘keeper on the bench and saw no first-team action. Ben is not particularly tall for a goalkeeper, but he has quick reactions and good shot-stopping abilities.

He is a former England U21 international.
