Bacary Sagna

A right back who signed for Arsenal in July 2007. A strong and committed defender, Bacary is comfortable going forward and can shoot powerfully from long range.

A first choice since joining the Gunners he has now made over 150 appearances for the club. He was again in consistent form throughout 2010-11, when he was one of three Arsenal players selected for the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

He was a regular in the line-up at the start of 2011-12 before suffering a broken leg in the game with Tottenham at the beginning of October. He returned to match fitness at the end of January and added further appearances then sustained a second fracture of the same leg at the beginning of May ruling him out once more.

Bacary previously played in France for Auxerre, where he was a member of the team that lost out to Lyon in the final of the 2005 domestic cup competition. He won his first cap for France in August 2007 and has now made 32 appearances for his country, the most recent coming against Romania in September 2011.
