Ashley Chambers Biography
A product of the Leicester City Academy, Ashley Chambers became the club’s youngest-ever player coming on as substitute in a Carling Cup game against Blackpool in September 2005, aged 15 years and 203 days. The pacy young striker had to wait more than two years for his League debut, when he came off the bench against Cardiff in November 2007. He made further appearances that season and featured twice from the bench in 2008-09 season, but these proved to be his last games in a Leicester shirt. Ashley spent time on loan with Wycombe and Grimsby in 2009-10, then again with Conference club York City in 2010-11. He was released by Leicester at the end of the season and signed permanently for the Minstermen shortly afterwards. Ashley is a former youth international and scored a hat-trick on his debut for England U17s against the Faeroe Islands. He has also represented England at U18 and U19 levels.
