Ashley Young is an exciting attacking player who signed for Aston Villa in January 2007. Ashley can play up front but is mainly used as a winger, at home on either flank. He is a player who can get the crowd buzzing with expectation every time he is on the ball, his dazzling speed and close control making him a favourite with the Villa faithful. After a slow start he really blossomed at Villa Park and his form improved as each season progressed. In the 2010-11 campaign he was again the key figure in the side, although sometimes playing in a new role just behind the front man before returning to a position on the wing. In the summer of 2011 he left Villa Park, signing for Premier League champions Manchester United. Ashley developed as a youngster at Watford, making over 100 appearances prior to his move to Villa Park. A full international for England, he was the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2008-09.
