Andrew Johnson Biography

Andy Johnson is a striker who joined Fulham from Everton in August 2008.

He is a good all-round forward who unsettles opposition defences with his pace and is able to play either as a lone striker or alongside a partner. He was a regular for much of his first season at Craven Cottage before suffering a knee injury in April 2009, while he also missed much of the 2009-10 campaign through injuries.

He returned to first-team action in October 2010 and by the second half of the season he was back to his best, appearing regularly in the line-up and contributing some useful goals. Andy started his career with Birmingham, but it was his goalscoring exploits at Crystal Palace, where he bagged 75 goals in 145 outings between 2002 and 2006, that made the football world take notice.

Two seasons at Everton followed, during which he was mostly used as a lone striker, before his switch to West London.

He won eight caps for England between 2005 and 2007.
