Alex Smithies Biography
Alex Smithies is a talented young goalkeeper who developed in the youth set-up at Huddersfield Town, making his senior debut as a 17-year-old. Alex became a regular in the team from November 2008 and went on to produce some confident performances.
He is an excellent shot stopper and has the physical presence to command his area. Alex had something of a frustrating time with injuries in the 2010-11 season when he also found himself facing competition from the veteran Ian Bennett for the ‘keeper’s jersey.
