Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Biography
A teenaged attacking player who signed for Arsenal in August 2011. He went on to make his debut for the Gunners when he came off the bench at Old Trafford later the same month and enjoyed a highly promising first season at the Emirates Stadium, making 15 starts in all.
Alex is a powerful runner whose primary skills are his speed and close dribbling, while he also possesses tremendous acceleration. Alex made his Football League debut for Southampton as a substitute in March 2010 at the age of 16 years and 199 days, becoming the youngest Saint since Theo Walcott made his debut.
Given the opportunity to prove himself from the bench early in the 2010-11 season, Alex quickly established himself as a first-team regular, usually at right midfield, but also in a more central role where he could run at defenders.
He established himself with England U21s during 2011-12 and in the summer he was selected for the squad for the Euro 2012 finals, featuring in all three group games for England during the tournament.
