Adam McGurk joined Tranmere Rovers in the summer of 2010, initially arriving on non-contract terms to prove his fitness after a long spell out of the game due to serious injury and a few cameo appearances for Hednesford Town. Another of Rovers' Northern Ireland contingent, he has played for his country at U16, U17 and U21 levels, Adam was highly rated as a striker by Aston Villa, often outshining team mate Gabby Agbonlahor in their reserves. He made his Rovers, debut in the 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth, but scored a dramatic 94th minute winner in the reverse fixture which more or less cemented Rovers' League One status for 2011-12
