Aaron Mokoena Biography
Aaron Mokoena is a well-travelled midfield
player who signed for Portsmouth in the summer of 2009.
He was in and out of
the side in 2009-10, featuring both in midfield and at centre back and scoring
his first goal for the club in the FA Cup third round tie with Coventry City in
January.
A regular in the line-up again at the start of 2010-11 he reverted to
a place on the bench later in the season.
Aaron began his career in South
Africa with Jomo Cosmos, then moved to Europe for spells with Bayer Leverkusen
and Ajax, before signing for Blackburn Rovers in January 2005.
A defensive
midfielder, he has captained the South Africa national side for whom he has now
made over 100 appearances.
