Lennon out of U21 clash

Aaron Lennon will miss England Under-21s' friendly with Ecuador due to a groin strain picked up in the North London derby.[LNB] The Tottenham winger was brought off with just three minutes to go in Sunday's match against Arsenal.[LNB]Spurs manager Harry Redknapp revealed that he tried to keep Lennon on the pitch but the 21-year-old was struggling to play with the injury and requested a substitution.[LNB]"Aaron came off with a groin strain. He was struggling with quarter of an hour, 20 minutes to go, wanted to come off but I tried to keep him going as long as we could," Redknapp told the club's official website.[LNB]"He was struggling with it though and he won't be fit to play for the Under-21s."[LNB]Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara has also withdrawn from the Under-21 squad due to a hip injury.[LNB]
