Everton are in pole position to sign Swedish star Rasmus Elm after he visited the club, skysports.com understands. Elm's club, Kalmar FF, revealed over the weekend that Everton had made an approach for the highly-rated midfielder. The 21-year-old impressed during last month's European Under 21 Championship and he has broken into the senior set-up this year, winning six caps to date. A number of clubs are chasing the set-piece specialist, but Everton are leading the hunt for Elm after inviting the player over to Merseyside. Elm's representative, Patrick Mork, has admitted the player would be interested in a move to Everton and the Premier League. "For sure Everton is an interesting option for Rasmus," Mork told skysports.com. "Everton asked him to visit the club last Friday and everything was positive at Everton. "Of course it would be interesting for Rasmus to play in England, but he has a lot of options. "There has been a lot of interest in Rasmus and he also has other options in England. "Rasmus is regarded as one of the best players in Sweden in the last 20 years - that is his reputation. "He is a special player and he has a big decision to make."
