Walsall have handed trials to veteran defender Jamie Vincent and the former Birmingham City trainee Peter Till.
Winger Till, 23, was released by Grimsby Town after a brief loan spell at Chesterfield.
Vincent, 34, played for the Saddlers in the 2-1 pre-season win over Rotherham after being released by Swindon Town.
"Jamie has plenty of experience so we're looking at him over the next couple of games," Walsall manager Chris Hutchings told BBC WM.
"He retains the ball very well and is a real threat," said Hutchings. "He's another one we're looking at."
Both are likely to feature in Tuesday's friendly against Wolves and Saturday's game against West Bromwich Albion.
Walsall finished 13th in League One last season.
