Rushden and Diamonds assistant manager Michael Stone has not ruled out the chance of making more signings.
Diamonds have brought in eight new players, including signing Nottingham Forest winger James Reid on loan.
Stone told BBC Radio Northampton: "Justin Edinburgh is on the phone a lot, and we're looking how to add depth to the squad in one or two positions.
"As we play more games, we'll highlight where we need
strengthening. It's important that we're improving."
Rushden and Diamonds lost 4-1 to Grimsby in the semi-final of the Errea South West Challenge over the weekend. Their next pre-season friendly is against Nottingham Forest at home on Wednesday at 1930 BST.
"It was a chance for us to go away as a squad, to bond more and to get each know other better," said Stone.
"It's about getting us ready physically and tactically, and ensuring that the new signings are blending in well."
