Player Details

Richard Lee is an experienced goalkeeper who spent 10 years with Watford before joining Brentford in the summer of 2010.  Although he featured in pre-season he lost his place when the season started and was initially restricted to cup appearances.  He produced a heroic performance against Everton in the Carling Cup, saving the crucial spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out to ensure the Bees overcame their Premier League opponents to reach the fourth round. Richard finally made his League debut for Brentford in November and then featured regularly until a shoulder injury cut short his season.  His knack of saving penalties was a big factor in the Bees reaching the Wembley final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.  Richard's save knocked out Leyton Orient in a shoot-out and he did even better against Charlton saving three penalties again in a shoot-out. Although he missed the final through injury he was later voted Brentford's Player of the Season.
