Oumare Tounkara is a striker who was on the books of Sunderland in 2010-11. Oumare joined the Black Cats on trial from Ligue 2 club Sedan at the beginning of the 2009-10 season before signing a contract. A tall, physical striker with a good turn of pace, Oumare struggled with injuries for much of his first campaign on Wearside, but managed 12 appearances for the reserves. In August 2010 he joined Oldham Athletic along with his colleague Jean-Yves M'Voto in a season-long loan arrangement. Oumare quickly established himself as a regular for the Latics after scoring on his home debut against Notts County and was rarely absent all season, becoming a great favourite of the fans at Boundary Park during his stay.
