Player Details

Nicky Weaver was first choice goalkeeper for League One club Sheffield Wednesday in 2010-11.  Signed just before the start of the season following his release by Burnley, the Sheffield born custodian went straight into the side for the opening game of. His second spell at Wednesday, after an earlier loan period in 2005, began with a 2-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge and he remained undisputed No 1 at Hillsborough for the remainder of the season, showing excellent reflexes and a command of his penalty area.  His consistency made Nicky one of the bright spots of a disappointing campaign for Wednesday and he finished second in the Player of the Year poll. The boyhood Owls? fan remains a popular figure amongst Sheffield Wednesday supporters and was handed the captain's armband on several occasions during the season.
