James Coppinger was in his sixth season with Doncaster Rovers in 2010-11. A tricky winger with considerable pace and fine ball skills, he has also operated as a striker or in central midfield. James began his career with Darlington before being snapped up by Newcastle, but his experience of Premier League football was limited to one outing before he moved on to Exeter City. Still fondly remembered for his breathtaking hat-trick in the 2007-08 League One play-offs, James netted another treble in the 3-1 win over Norwich City in September. His consistency earned him the Supporters' Club and Players' Player of the Season awards for 2010-11. He has now played almost 300 first-team games for Rovers and is a key figure in the line-up. In June he participated in the Inca Trek along with two team mates, helping to raise money for the NSPCC.
