Striker Brett Ormerod is hoping his loan move to Oldham Athletic can help resurrect his career at parent club Preston North End.
Ormerod, 31, has joined the League One club on a month's loan following his failure to make a single appearance for Preston this term.
But the former Blackpool and Southampton striker doesn't believe his time at Deepdale is necessarily over.
"I'm not desperate to leave because I'm happy at Preston. It is just a case of me wanting to get some games," he told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"I'm in the last year of my contract with North End and I need to be playing, not watching.
"It hasn't worked out for me so far this season, but there is a long way to go and, who knows, if I go away and do well for Oldham I might get my chance back at Preston."
