Former Preston North End defender Sean St Ledger believes returning to Deepdale with Middlesbrough could be a strange experience.
The former Peterborough United man moved to the north east six weeks ago and is expected to sign for a fee in the region of £4.5million in January.
Speaking to Lancashire Evening Post, he said: "It does seem strange to be coming back, especially as it hasn't been that long since I went on loan.
"When I joined Boro, the first thing I did was look at the fixture list to see when we played Preston, and what struck me was how soon the game was.
"I played the best football of my career with Preston, I had a great rapport with the fans and it was disappointing to leave."
