    St Ledger faces double op

    25 May 2010 - 13:49:51

Preston North End defender Sean St Ledger is set for surgery on hernia and knee injuries in the next week.

The 25-year-old centre-back will go under the knife after featuring for the Republic of Ireland against Paraguay and Algeria.

St Ledger told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I'm having the hernia done on Sunday and my knee the following day.

"It's not the nicest thing to look forward to but the operations have to be done.

"Both are quite standard procedures and the injuries are ones I've been playing with for some time.

"The knee injury wasn't particularly bothering me, it's the pain in the stomach from the hernia which is worst. It will be a relief to get it sorted out."
