Preston North End duo Neil Mellor and Adam Nowland are unlikely to be back in action any time soon, as they continue to battle to regain full fitness.
Winger Nowland has not played first-team football since breaking his leg in January against Norwich City and recently suffered a thigh strain during a reserve outing.
The 25-year-old joined the Lilywhites in the summer of 2005 from Nottingham Forest.
Striker Mellor has yet to feature for Preston since his summer arrival from Liverpool, with a knee problem having forced him to go under the knife a fortnight ago.
Preston boss Paul Simpson told the Lancashire Evening Post: "It's just a matter of being patient.
"But we are not putting a time-scale on either player. We will just have to see how things go."
